Guided Sea Kayaking on the St. Lawrence River

Set out to paddle on the St. Lawrence River from Les Escoumins, departing from the Quai des Pilotes, and discover the coastline at a calm and immersive pace. Our sea kayaking excursions take place in small groups of up to 8 people, using double kayaks to ensure stability, safety, and an enjoyable shared experience. Accompanied by an experienced and bilingual guide, you will explore an area known for the richness of its marine environment, between rocky headlands, tidal flats, and deep waters where the river’s wildlife is often present.

Throughout the outing, your guide shares insights about the St. Lawrence ecosystem, the maritime history of the region, and the species that can be observed here. All of our tours are offered in both French and English, welcoming both local and international visitors.

Environment

Our excursions are conducted in accordance with the guidelines of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park. We adopt a careful and responsible approach in order to minimize disturbance to wildlife and protect the region’s sensitive marine life.

Weather

Tours take place in a variety of conditions, but safety always remains the priority. If the guides determine that weather conditions make the excursion unsafe, it will be postponed or refunded. Conditions on the river can change quickly and strongly influence the feasibility of a kayaking outing. For this reason, the Du Fleuve team reserves the right to cancel an excursion if conditions are deemed unfavorable or unsafe for participants.

Wildlife observation

It is possible to see marine mammals, seals, or seabirds during the excursion. However, as these are wild animals living in their natural environment, sightings can never be guaranteed.
