Seabird-watching cruise, in partnership with the TBO
Guided cruises dedicated to ornithology and the observation of seabirds, carried out in collaboration with the Tadoussac Bird Observatory.

The experience
Board our 12-passenger zodiacs and join us for a seabird-watching cruise on the St. Lawrence River. These outings are offered in collaboration with the Tadoussac Bird Observatory and are guided by a professional ornithologist from the organization, who shares their knowledge and expertise throughout the excursion. All cruises are guided in both French and English.
The Tadoussac and Haute-Côte-Nord region is recognized as one of the most important birdwatching sites in Québec. The meeting of the Saguenay Fjord and the St. Lawrence River creates nutrient-rich waters that attract a remarkable diversity of seabirds. Several emblematic species frequent the region, including the Razorbill, the Common Murre, eiders, gulls, and various seabirds. Some islands and coastal cliffs also serve as nesting sites for these species.
Travelling in small groups allows time to carefully observe birds in their natural environment while learning more about their identification, behaviour, and migration strategies. The presence of a professional ornithologist provides deeper insight into the ecology of seabirds in the St. Lawrence and the migratory phenomena that shape the region.
These cruises also provide access to observation areas that are difficult to reach from shore. Seabirds often gather offshore or on remote rocky islets, making boat-based observation particularly valuable for identification and photography.
Each outing is conducted in accordance with the approach guidelines of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park in order to minimize disturbance and protect bird habitats. As with all our activities, we adopt a responsible and respectful approach to wildlife observation.
Observation seasons
Birdwatching cruises are offered during key periods of the ornithological calendar: spring migration, the summer nesting season, and fall migration. Each period offers the opportunity to observe different species and experience the migratory movements that make the St. Lawrence a major corridor for seabirds.
Private cruises
It is possible to reserve a private boat to enjoy the experience with your own group. The maximum capacity remains 12 passengers per boat, even for private outings.
Important information
For safety reasons, children under 8 years old (except on private cruises), pregnant women, and individuals with back problems are not permitted on board.
